What Can Go Wrong, Episode #1 : Promoting From Within

According to Murphy’s law, “Whatever can go wrong will go wrong”. In other words, things will go wrong in any given situation if you give them a chance to. What if in a few areas, we could spare you the pain?

That’s our goal with this brand new “What can go wrong” series. In every session, a speaker will share his hands-on experience to guide you through common pitfalls regarding different topics ranging from organizational to technical issues.

For this first session, Maxime Castéra, Founder @ Entervals.com & TeamPitfalls.com, will guide you through the common pitfalls in appointing a new lead within a team.

When scaling a team, as people managers, business owners or start-up founders, we automatically direct our attention to our most senior team members to lead the charge.
While it provides direct comfort and peace of mind to appoint a trusted product or service expert to take on new responsibilities, leading people is hardly about subject matter expertise.

Maxime will share the Dos but especially the Don’ts when extrapolating technical expertise to people management skills.
